Interserve to build £7.5m Withybush Hospital Dialysis Unit

Tuesday, 12th February 2013

Interserve has won the contract to build a £7.5m renal dialysis unit at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest in west Wales. The project on behalf of Hywel Dda Health Board comes from the Designed For Life: Building for Wales framework. As a result of a consultation process including local renal specialists and patient representatives, Interserve will build a 21-station renal dialysis unit at the front of the hospital site, next to the existing main entrance and recently-built A&E facility. Works are expected to be complete by early 2014.

The new unit will deliver vital renal services for the patients of West Wales, enabling more patients to undergo treatment locally, thereby reducing the need for travel. Interserve has also been asked to construct a 250 space staff car park in advance of the new single storey renal dialysis unit, and to undertake alterations to the existing car park, whilst maintaining full operational services to the existing hospital facilities.
