Contractor Sought for £38m Bristol Uni Law School

Tuesday, 22nd April 2014

The University of the West of England is looking for a contractor to build a new School of Business & Law at its Frenchay campus near Bristol. Procurement bosses aim to let the job as a fixed-price, design and build contract. The contract value is expected to be between £32m and £38m and work is expected to get underway at the start of 2015, for the job to complete before the start of the 2016 term.

Up to six storeys high, the building is expected to provide between 13,000 and 16,500 square metres, subject to planning. The new building will house a 300-seat lecture theatre, mock-up court and trading rooms to give students a taste of real life environments. It is anticipated that the site will be cleared prior to the appointment of the main contractor and that a substructure enabling package may be let.

PQQ forms are available from the In-Tend e-tendering website, with tenders due to be invited from shortlisted firms in August.
