Bidding Now Open for £160m South West Wales Frameworks

  Carmarthen County Council is on the hunt for 16 firms to sign up to two building frameworks worth a total of £160m over the next four years with the largest for a panel of eight contractors to carry out construction of housing new build and refurbishment work in South West Wales, worth up to £100m.     The other framework will cover schools and other non-residential building work in the region, through which £60m could be spent over the period. Eight contractors will be selected for each framework.     Both frameworks cover refurbishment and new build. Continuous improvement, collaboration and measurement by key performance indicators are likely to be features of the framework. The successful contractors will be expected to consider opportunities to recruit and train persons as part of the workforce delivering this project.     The consortium is headed by Carmarthenshire County Council, and includes organisations such as Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Services, Dyfed Powys Police, University of Wales Trinity St. David, Llanelli Rural Council, Coleg Sir Gar, Diocese of Minevia, Diocese of St Davids, Bro Myrddin Housing Association who will also have access to the panel of firms for contract call offs.     Interested contractors will need to complete and return a pre-qualification questionnaire for both frameworks by 10 January 2012. Further information is available by emailing: -
