£50m Bristol Office Block Project Approved

Developer Commercial Estates Group has gained planning for a speculative 8-storey office block in Bristol. Designed by Aukett Fitzroy Robinson and Buro Happold, the Aspire office project is located at the intersection of Temple Street and Victoria Street in the city’s business district.

Each floor plate on every level will be designed to be capable of running a completely separate environmental system. This will enable the base design to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Outstanding’, based on single occupancy, and ‘Excellent’ with multiple lettings.

A spokesman for the developer said they would be aiming for an element of pre-let before starting the project in around 12 months’ time. Talks to appoint a contractor for the contract will begin early next year.

Luke Schuberth, managing director at Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, said: “This scheme is an important landmark for Bristol and will make a significant contribution to the region’s commercial offering. The unique flexibility of this design makes it truly stand out from its peer developments, I am not aware of another building like it in the UK.”
